The Move Boots

The book The Party Boots, by simply Linda LeGarde Grover, is known as a compilation of stories told by various members of the Ojibwa relatives who continually struggles with the challenges that numerous native American people confront due to the white-colored mans constantly changing world. The story starts with a elderly girl recounting the horrible occasions she witnessed and knowledgeable at a native American boarding school, which was designed to break traditional Ojibwa morals and tradition. She then passes the storyline on to her niece by age old Ojibwa tradition of storytelling, and putting in her the importance of passing her stories on to her descendants, so that the great the native American persons does not proceed untold. Even though this is formally a fictional tale it portrays many problems that are totally realistic. Afterwards in the book you have the story of the married couple who also struggle with bringing up a family in poverty. Like we see often a daddy working a permenant job and the mother raising the family to make an income that will bring their family living in a single room property doesn't constantly turn out to be great. With lower income taking hang on these people some of them turn to alcohol dependency and misuse to take out their frustrations with their financial situation. Addiction to alcohol isn't the worst that may be happening to the native American people as a result of extreme low income levels. Young suicide between native persons is at an all time high and is the 2nd leading reason for death for the age group by itself, and is 3 times higher than any other minority group.
