Exec Summary

This report should explain the operations of Facilities Managing at colleges and universities. The report will comprise of five portions, each detailing core aspects of the features management. The first section will commence with discussing the roles and responsibilities of the Services Manager. Another section will discuss the partnership between small business and space planning, followed by the problems and constraints of space portion. The report will then go over the issue of health insurance and safety and environmental factors that the Facilities Management has to take into consideration in its operations, and then the need for having an ethical foundation inside the Facilities Supervision. Each of these portions will be mentioned chronologically.

Roles and responsibilities of the Facilities Manager

A Facilities Administrator is a professional who covers multiple disciplines to ensure functionality of the organisation by integrating those, place, process and technology ( This is achieved by promoting the employees from the organisation to undertake their features, develop all their well-being and allowing the organisation to be effective and deliver quality companies to their stakeholders. The role of your facility manager further comes with effective using the organisation's assets in a cost-effective approach; enabling becomes come to organisation, offer a competitive border to the company by growing its interior culture (Atkin, Brooks, 2009). A Facilities Manager has got the responsibility of organising, managing and complementing the ideal and functional management of any building service. A key component to this responsibility is to take care of staff and the standard repair. The main areas of tasks for facilities managing include: 2. Maintenance performs – appropriate maintenance system compliance in order to deal with problems or center failures quickly. * Ensuring effective Security measures – abidance with security system and process. 5. Ensuring Washing of facilities– cleaning of rooms and specified objects. * Employing Safety procedures – complying with security procedures and precautions. 5. Space and facilities preparing – appropriate management of space and allocation to users, standard update of database computer software for allocation and updating users. 5. Reception managing – making certain a process to relieve symptoms of visitors is usually followed. 5. Operational Services maintenance – ensuring printers and photocopiers are working effectively and letter head facilities will be adequate. * Communication assistance – ensuring telephones, fax and internet and intranet connections are fully operating (Atkin, Creeks, 2009). The Facilities Administrator monitors the performance with the employees of facilities supervision in order to ensure that these duties are properly carried out.
